Come Back Soon was written for some friends of mine who were part of the first troops to go into East Timor in 1999. I recorded a demo and placed it on my web site. Townsville DJ Dave Daly heard the song and played it on his show. It received a great reaction from the families of the troops.
XXXX stepped in and sponsored the recording of the single.
It became the flagship song for a project called Images of Interfet, which ended up raising substantial funds for some orphanages in East Timor.
